Julia Salem

She is a dancer and performer, graduated from Pontifícia Universidade Católica PUC-SP in Comunicação das Artes do Corpo (Performing Arts), specialized in dance andperformance. In 2006 and 2007 she took part in the group Ladecor (research and creation),directed by Helena Bastos. She performed and choreographed the show Fleuma, coordinated by Vera Salas in2006. She created and performed Are you experienced? and Aquilo que não se vê, directed by Rose Akras with whom she has been studying and exchanging creating experiences in the fields of dance and performance. She created and performed Escamando in 2010, coordinated by Daniela Dini. Creator of Rastros de uma Presença (performance and videodance) for a project of residency in 2011. She took part in the work Corpo-Circuito in 2012, created for a public event, in collaboration with Claudio Bueno and Pane Tone. She has been a member of the group 16 mulheres e ½ , coordinated by Maristela Estrela and Mariana Sucupira since 2012, where she took part in the project Entre este um e outro (2013) as creator and director of the solo In_screver and she also created and performed the solo Recolher created and directed by Andreia Guilhermina. In 2012, she took part in the performance Experimentações fora do lugar of the group Núcleo Cinematográfico, which took place at the old prison building Carandiru as part of the 10º Fomento à Dança da cidade de São Paulo – 2012. She took part in the project Guerrilha Poética: Cartografias do Sentido coordinated by Talma Salem to whom was awarded the prize Funarte – Petrobras de Dança Klauss Viana in 2012. She is a member of the group Núcleo de Garagem, a group of dancers that investigates the urban public space as an environment for creation, artistic residency and performances. They created the works: Travèssa (2010), Demolições (2011), Sua Dança é um Segredo (2012). She has been awarded the prize Novas Criações Site Specific -2014, and presented the project Instaura_ação together with Juliana Gennari.
